The morning
and evening rituals of feeding our flock of sheep are the beginnings of the process of
creating my art in textiles. Each sheep has a different texture and color. The sheep are
sheared once a year and I wash and card their fleeces. The wool is then spun on the
spinning wheel and made into yarn which is woven to create textile art. All fleeces like
the sheep are different . Each fleece tells me what it wants to be. Some are woven into
rugs. Some are woven into tapestries. Some of it is used as insulation to cover the
outdoor faucets in winter.
When I do photography I look for texture, light and color. Sometimes I cut and weave the
Photographs. So photography and weaving intertwine to become one. The elements of Texture,
Light and Color are not bound by any medium
